To lead, manage, and optimize the operations of the Continuous Casting Plant, ensuring high productivity, product quality, equipment reliability, and safety compliance. The role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and coordination with upstream and downstream units to achieve production targets, cost efficiency, and sustainability goals in line with the overall objectives of the steel plant

• Plan, direct, and oversee all continuous casting operations (slab, bloom, or billet casting) to meet daily, monthly, and annual production targets.

• Ensure optimal casting parameters to maintain product quality, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.

• Monitor and control process parameters (mould level, cooling rates, withdrawal speed, etc.) for consistent performance.

• Lead troubleshooting of process or equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and quality losses.

• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, yield, quality, and cost through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.

• Collaborate with maintenance, automation, and R&D teams to implement technological upgrades and process innovations.

• Analyze operational data and performance trends to optimize casting efficiency and reduce defects like cracks, segregation, and inclusions.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.

• Ensure proper training and skill development for team members on new technologies and SOPs.

• Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and statutory regulations.

• Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, or other relevant quality systems and customer specifications.

• Drive implementation of safety standards and risk assessments within the CCP.

• Coordinate with upstream (SMS) and downstream (rolling mills, logistics) departments to ensure smooth flow and synchronization.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, downtime, quality, and performance KPIs.

• Participate in strategic planning for capacity expansion, new product development, and modernization initiatives.
