Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the communications department for a social impact foundation working with rural communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. They will provide leadership to the communications team, oversee stakeholder engagement efforts, manage external relations, and ensure effective implementation of communication plans. Key Responsibilities Strategic Communication Planning & Implementation Develop an overarching communications strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Translate the overarching strategy into actionable plans and tactics. Analyze market trends, audience insights, and organizational priorities to create a comprehensive plan that drives impact. Create detailed communication plans for specific campaigns, initiatives, or projects and oversee their execution. Oversee content creation efforts and collaborate with content creators, copywriters, designers, and videographers to produce high-quality content across channels. Monitor performance metrics, analyze insights, and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement. Manage the communications budget and allocate resources effectively to support initiatives and campaigns. Leadership and Management Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team. Provide leadership to the communications team by setting clear goals, systems, and processes that optimize productivity and performance. Guide the team toward achieving departmental and organizational objectives. Support and strengthen a collaborative and inclusive work culture where team members can thrive. Supervise daily activities of the communications team and ensure tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. Stakeholder Engagement Oversee stakeholder engagement initiatives and maintain relationships with artisans, employees, donors, partners, and community members. Enhance the organization's reputation and impact through effective relationship management. External Relations Act as the primary point of contact for media communication, public events, and industry forums. Build relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners to amplify the organization’s message. Represent the organization in select settings as delegated by the leadership. Must-Have Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field; Master’s preferred. Minimum 12 years of experience in communications, with at least 7 years in a leadership role. Proven ability to develop and execute impactful communications strategies. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across stakeholder groups. Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Technical expertise in analytics, SEO, and performance tracking tools. Experience in budget management and performance monitoring. Proficiency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus. Good to Have Qualifications Understanding of the social and economic challenges in rural communities and a commitment to their upliftment.
