Head of Commercial Project Management Office

Role Overview: You will be based at the British High Commission in New Delhi and will play a crucial leadership role in establishing and managing a newly formed team focused on Commercial Project Management activities for the United Kingdoms (UK) Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Your team will operate as a Commercial Project Management Office (CPMO) within the FCDO's wider Commercial Directorate, reporting to the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Commercial Team in the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of CPMO services, lead your team, and coordinate with stakeholders across Diplomacy and Development. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage a team of specialists to oversee Commercial Project Management activities in New Delhi - Govern and control the DDaT portfolio, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with project frameworks and policies - Monitor and mitigate commercial risks, manage change control, and oversee audit and quality assurance functions - Collaborate with the UK team to enhance relationships, capture data, and report on procurement activities - Develop the team's capabilities, drive continuous improvements, and ensure the use of best-in-class technology and tools - Act as a liaison between the Technology Sourcing Team and the DDaT Commercial Team in the UK - Build relationships with stakeholders, contribute to global category development, and promote commercial best practices - Provide leadership, guidance, and support to your team to drive efficiencies, deliver savings, and manage commercial risk - Ensure compliance with procurement guidance, drive a culture of continuous improvement, and track the team's performance - Identify and document commercial savings, manage commercial data, and seek procurement opportunities for value for money Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field - Strong commercial technical skills, with experience in leading complex commercial situations and teams - Programme management delivery skills - Minimum of 7 years in a commercial and/or programme management role - Demonstrable line management experience in procurement - Experience in regional/international procurement beyond domestic markets - Ability to identify improvements and manage changes for beneficial outcomes - Coaching and mentoring experience to build team capability - Proficiency in English language Additional Details: - Formal qualification in Procurement or Commercial discipline (desirable) - Experience with e-procurement tools (desirable) - Knowledge of Hindi language (desirable),
