We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated General Manager (GM) to oversee our EXIM operations, customs clearance, and shipping line activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in ocean shipping, container planning, and working with customs regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and an in-depth understanding of the global trade environment.

Key Responsibilities:

EXIM Operations Management:

Oversee all export and import activities, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.

Develop and implement EXIM strategies to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Customs Clearance:

Manage customs clearance processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documentation.

Liaise with customs authorities and stakeholders to resolve any compliance issues.

Shipping Line Management:

Oversee sea shipping operations, including vessel scheduling, freight management, and route optimization.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with shipping lines and freight forwarders.

Container Planning:

Coordinate container planning and management to optimize utilization and minimize costs.

Monitor container inventory and ensure timely returns of containers.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the EXIM and shipping operations team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to enhance team skills.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay updated with changes in trade regulations, customs laws, and shipping policies to ensure compliance.

Implement necessary changes to internal processes in line with regulatory updates.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth operations.

Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any operational issues that may arise.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and present regular reports on EXIM and shipping operations to senior management.

Analyze market trends and performance metrics to drive strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Minimum of 20 years of experience in EXIM operations, customs clearance, and shipping management.

In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and shipping practices.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in logistics management software and MS Office Suite.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
