Job Title: Head Chef – North Indian Cuisine & Tandoor Expert

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef specializing in North Indian cuisine with deep expertise in Tandoor cooking techniques. The ideal candidate will have a passion for authentic Indian flavors, proven leadership in kitchen management, and the creativity to innovate while preserving traditional recipes. This is a key role responsible for maintaining the highest culinary standards, menu development, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on North Indian and Tandoori dishes.
  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic North Indian curries, breads (like naan, kulcha), kebabs, and tandoori items to the highest standard.
  • Create and update menus reflecting seasonal availability and customer preferences while maintaining authenticity.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of Tandoor ovens and related equipment.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring consistency and quality in food preparation.
  • Monitor food cost, portion control, and waste reduction to meet budget targets.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, food safety, and compliance with health regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–8 years of culinary experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role focused on North Indian cuisine and Tandoor cooking.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, marination techniques, and traditional cooking methods.
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining a clay Tandoor oven.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred, but not mandatory with relevant experience.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Creative flair for modern presentation of traditional dishes.
  • Experience in fine dining, banquets, or high-volume restaurants.
  • Passion for Indian culinary culture and ongoing learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
