Head - Capex & Opex Procurement

Position Description

Position Purpose

Strategic Responsibilities

• Direct & implement key purchase / procurement strategies, contingency plans for capital goods
• Develop strategic partnerships with capital equipment vendors
• Provide support in assessing supplier quality and develop parameters for choosing the right suppliers
• Design and implement tracking system for capital purchase orders to increase accuracy in delivery follow-up
• Ensure cost effective purchases of materials by executing a robust cost optimization strategy

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure timely procurement of equipment and machineries as per business plan
• Ensure procurement cost well within budgeted cost
• Provide guidance in identifying higher consumption items and converting them in long term contracts
• Maintain ARC/AMC of service providers
• Keep track on all legal aspects and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and ensure timely supply of equipment and machineries
• Negotiate with suppliers/Freight forwarder/transporters etc. to avail minimum service charges
• Facilitate resolution of problems related to misunderstanding or misinterpretation of product specifications or quality standards
• Establish annual budget for Capital Purchase team and ensure that the team operates within the budget
• Maximize creditors day by higher credits on inputs and low inventories

• Inform & discuss quality related matters with Suppliers, Production Head, Engineering Head
• Facilitate initiatives for training need identification and building requisite skills & competencies through systematic training & skill-upgradation initiatives for the team
• Actively drive, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, the performance management process of the team
• Recognize & reward excellent performers & affirm key contributions of employees toward the achievement of goals & objectives of the team
• Inspire & motivate employees through demonstrated commitment to PI’s values, vision & mission and active participation in various team engagement activities

Education Qualification

• B.Tech/B.E. – Mechanical/ Chemical
• PG - MBA/PGDM Graduate (Supply Chain/ Operations
