Role Overview

As a Hardware Engineer at WAM Electronics, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, testing, and supporting hardware products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including software, production, and quality assurance to develop robust hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital electronic circuits, create schematics, and develop PCB layouts.
• Build hardware prototypes and perform bring-up.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and select optimal components.
• Develop and execute hardware test plans, perform validation, and debug issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for hardware failures and troubleshoot problems.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to apply DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) principles.
• Provide production support and suggest improvements for manufacturability and reliability.
• Maintain and upgrade existing hardware designs, manage component obsolescence.
• Document design specifications, test reports, standard operating procedures, and design changes.
• Coordinate with software, QA, and production teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
• Research new components and emerging technologies to optimize cost, performance, and reliability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience or good understanding of circuit design (analog + digital).
• Proficiency with PCB design tools (schematic capture, layout).
• Strong testing and debugging skills (using multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Good problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret component datasheets.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred / Desirable:

• Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers.
• Basic knowledge of firmware or hardware–software integration.
• Familiarity with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
• Understanding of production-quality processes and quality control.

Experience Level

• Fresh graduates with academic or project experience in hardware are welcome to apply.
• 1–3 years of relevant industry experience (hardware design, PCB, prototyping) is preferred.
