General Sales Manager

As a General Manager Sales in our FMCG Foods company, your role will involve leading and managing the overall sales strategy and execution across the southern region, specifically Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. You will be responsible for developing, training, and empowering sales teams, driving achievement of ambitious sales goals, designing distribution strategies, and ensuring a high-performance culture across the sales organization. Additionally, you will be required to coordinate with marketing, operations, and supply chain departments for seamless execution and present business plans, reports, and forecasts to senior management. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage overall sales strategy and execution across the southern region. - Develop, train, and empower sales teams. - Drive achievement of ambitious sales goals with a focus on ground-level execution. - Design and monitor distribution strategies for strong market penetration. - Build and sustain a high-performance culture within the sales organization. - Ensure coordination with marketing, operations, and supply chain departments. - Prepare and present business plans, reports, and forecasts to senior management. - Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and adapt strategy proactively. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Business Management from a recognized university. - Minimum 15+ years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in the Foods sector. - Proven track record of handling business volumes of INR 100+ Crores. - Experience managing regional/state-level teams and sales operations. - Fluent in at least 2-3 Southern Indian languages and Hindi. - Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills. - Highly disciplined, punctual, accountable, and street-smart. - Strong sense of ownership, commitment, and business acumen. - Integrity and trustworthy leadership approach.
