Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven General Manager Sales to lead and oversee the

national sales function for our client. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer engagement across India. The ideal candidate will bring strong industry expertise, leadership acumen, and a deep understanding of the electrical solutions market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the national sales team to achieve set sales targets and

drive high performance across regions.

  • Ensure continuous capability development through training and performance

monitoring.

2. Strategic Sales Planning

  • Contribute to corporate strategy development with a focus on revenue growth,

market penetration, and customer acquisition.

  • Define and execute scalable sales strategies aligned with business goals and

evolving market conditions.

3. Sales Operations & Process Excellence

  • Design and implement efficient sales processes and procedures to enhance

operational productivity and customer satisfaction.

  • Track and analyze sales metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure consistent

achievement of targets.

4. Customer & Market Development

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry

stakeholders to maximize sales potential.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of customer needs and industry trends to anticipate

demand and position offerings effectively.

5. Budgeting & Financial Control

  • Prepare and manage the annual sales budget, ensuring alignment with company

financial objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor financial performance of the sales division and control expenditures

within approved limits.

6. Competitive Intelligence

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to enhance the companys market competitiveness.


  • Recommend product or service enhancements to maintain a strong value proposition in the market.

Education:

  • B.E./B.Tech

  • MBA from Tier 1/Tier 2 institute (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 17+ years in B2B sales in the electrical/electro-technical products industry.

  • At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role in a multinational company with nationallevel

responsibilities.

  • Should have managed a business portfolio of 130 to 150 Cr.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of Indian electrical market dynamics and distribution networks.

  • Strong commercial acumen and results-oriented mindset.

  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing sales teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operationalize plans effectively.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English & Hindi mandatory, Tamil will be an added advantage.
