Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Audit & Compliance

    • Develop and implement the annual safety audit plan for all project sites.
    • Conduct internal safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across construction sites.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory safety norms, labor laws, and environment health & safety (EHS) standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and national safety regulations applicable to real estate & construction.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation

    • Identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and high-risk activities during audits.
    • Provide recommendations and corrective/preventive measures to project teams.
    • Ensure timely closure of audit findings with proper documentation.
  • Policy & Process Implementation

    • Formulate and standardize safety audit procedures and checklists.
    • Drive implementation of companys safety policies across all sites.
    • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with organizational safety standards.
  • Training & Awareness

    • Conduct training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees, site engineers, and contractors.
    • Promote a safety-first culture within the organization.
  • Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare detailed safety audit reports and present findings to senior management.
    • Maintain safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
    • Track and report safety KPIs (accident frequency, near misses, compliance percentage).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of EHS norms, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and other relevant safety management systems.
  • Expertise in conducting audits in high-rise, township, and large-scale construction projects.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure safety adherence.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH is mandatory.
  • 18+ years of experience in safety management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in real estate or large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven track record of managing safety audits across multiple sites.
