General Manager Plant Accounting

A large Iron & Steel Manufacturing Plant is looking for GM Plant Accounts to manage the proper accounting and control system to maintain healthy financial status of the plant.

Role & responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

Oversee day-to-day plant accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.

Maintain general ledger integrity, ensuring adherence to Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS).

Prepare and review MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial dashboards for plant management.

Cost Accounting & Budgeting

Lead cost accounting, product costing, and inventory valuation using standard costing methodologies.

Drive preparation and monitoring of plant budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives.

Analyze actual manufacturing costs vs. budget and drive corrective actions.

. Statutory Compliance & Audits

Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements including GST, TDS, and Companies Act.

Liaise with auditors (internal, statutory, and cost) and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

Inventory & Fixed Asset Management

Monitor inventory movement, reconciliations, and physical verifications.

Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register, capitalization, and depreciation schedules.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a team of plant accountants and finance executives.

Build financial discipline and cost consciousness across departments.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: 1520 Years

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Strong domain knowledge of plant/operations finance in a process manufacturing environment (preferably steel or heavy industry).

Expertise in SAP (FICO), Excel, and financial modelling.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
