Job Description

The General Manager Sales (MICE) is responsible for planning, directing, and executing the overall sales and marketing strategy for the MICE segment across regional offices to achieve revenue targets. The role ensures growth in bookings, brand visibility, strategic client engagement, and the development of high-performing sales teams. It also involves strong coordination with marketing, hotel operations, and other internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless MICE experience to clients.

Role & responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans aligned with business targets.
  • Coordinate with Regional Sales Offices (RSOs) for lead generation, client meetings, negotiations, and closures.
  • Review DSRs, tentative and confirmed bookings, and provide strategic direction for deal conversions.
  • Monitor business performance and ensure timely reporting of forecasts and pipeline.

Marketing & Brand Visibility

  • Drive marketing campaigns for new and existing MICE offerings in coordination with senior management.
  • Represent the brand at exhibitions, trade fairs, and roadshows.
  • Maintain relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with the website and digital teams for continuous content and visibility enhancement.

Client Servicing & Engagement

  • Liaise with hotel and operations teams for smooth service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Interact with in-house guests for upselling and future business leads.
  • Gather and act upon guest feedback for continuous improvement.

Policy & Reporting

  • Ensure all RSOs follow standardized sales and CRM systems.
  • Contribute to pricing policies in consultation with top management.
  • Maintain coordination with Finance and HR to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports to management.

Manpower & Team Management

  • Address gaps by recruiting or assigning Sales Managers to appropriate markets.
  • Conduct performance reviews and appraisals for Sales & Marketing team members.
  • Guide and mentor team members for personal and professional development.

Preferred candidate profile

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. Strong experience in handling corporate accounts, travel agents, and event planners. Ability to lead and manage regional sales teams across multiple locations. Hands-on experience in organizing FAM tours, client engagement events, roadshows, and trade fairs. Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
