General Manager - HR

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the Human Resources function across corporate and project sites, driving strategic HR initiatives, people development, and operational excellence. The role focuses on aligning HR practices with business objectives to support the organizations growth and culture in the real estate sector.

Reporting to CHRO

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Planning

• Partner with senior leadership to design and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  
• Plan manpower requirements for upcoming and ongoing real estate projects.
  
• Support organizational restructuring, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee end-to-end recruitment for corporate and project roles including engineering, sales, marketing, and support functions.
  
• Ensure timely fulfillment of manpower needs through a mix of direct hiring, referrals, and consultants.
  
• Develop a strong employer brand within the real estate industry.
  

3. Talent Management & Employee Engagement

• Design and execute talent management programs including performance reviews, career pathing, and leadership development.
  
• Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance retention, motivation, and workplace culture.
  
• Implement recognition programs and internal communication strategies to foster team alignment.
  

4. Learning & Development

• Identify training needs across departments and design capability-building programs.
  
• Oversee skill enhancement initiatives for site and sales teams.
  
• Track training effectiveness and ensure alignment with business needs.
  

5. Performance Management

• Manage the performance appraisal process ensuring objectivity and linkage with rewards and development.
  
• Collaborate with HODs to set KRAs/KPIs aligned with organizational goals.
  
• Drive a performance-driven culture across all levels.
  

6. Compensation & Benefits

• Design and manage compensation structures that are competitive within the real estate industry.
  
• Ensure timely payroll processing and statutory compliance.
  
• Implement incentive and retention programs for project and sales teams.
  

7. Policy, Compliance & HR Operations

• Formulate, review, and implement HR policies and SOPs.
  
• Ensure compliance with all labor laws, statutory requirements, and audits.
  
• Manage HRMS implementation and HR analytics reporting.
  

8. Business Partnering & Leadership

• Serve as a strategic HR business partner to business heads and project leaders.
  
• Provide guidance on people-related decisions, conflict resolution, and organizational culture.
  
• Lead and mentor HR teams across multiple project sites.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• In-depth understanding of HR operations, talent management, and labor law compliance.
  
• Strong knowledge of real estate/project-based manpower management.
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.
  
• Proficiency in HRMS and analytics-driven decision-making.
  

Qualifications:

• MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or related discipline.
  
• 15 - 18 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
  
• Experience in
