Job Description

The General Manager – Civil is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all civil engineering and construction activities for the organization. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. The GM–Civil will lead project teams, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and optimize resources to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee execution of civil works including site development, structural works, and finishing.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality benchmarks.

2. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, guide, and supervise project engineers, site engineers, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and other departments.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and environmental norms.
  • Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures at project sites.

4. Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Evaluate contractors, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and resources.

5. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Prepare project budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  • Maintain project documentation, drawings, and technical records.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./M.E.).
  • 15–25 years of experience in civil construction/project management.
  • Proven experience in large-scale industrial/commercial/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of modern construction techniques, standards, and regulations.
