Job Profile: General Accountant – Homestay / Room Rental Business.

Preferance will be given to Female candidtaes from Trivandrum City Limits

Position Overview

We are seeking a General Accountant to manage the financial and operational accounting functions of our homestay and room rental business. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Tally ERP and capable of handling both guest-related transactions and daily financial records. This role requires accuracy, integrity, and the ability to balance hospitality operations with sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Transactions
  • Manage check-in and check-out accounting entries for guests.
  • Record advance payments, deposits, and refunds accurately in Tally.
  • Maintain guest ledger and reconcile balances daily.
  • Daily Financial Operations
  • Track and record daily expenses, petty cash, and cash vouchers.
  • Prepare and maintain expense registers for operational costs (utilities, supplies, housekeeping).
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of receipts and vouchers.
  • Bank & Cash Management
  • Reconcile bank statements with Tally records on a regular basis.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
  • Handle deposits, withdrawals, and online transactions securely.
  • Sales & Revenue Reporting
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Tally room rental income with booking records and guest receipts.
  • Support management in preparing financial summaries for review.
  • Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Assist in audit preparation and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records for tax filing and statutory compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
  • Software Expertise: Proficiency in Tally ERP (mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in accounting, preferably in hospitality or rental business.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and reconciliation.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and analyze variances.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills for guest interaction and team coordination.
