Role Overview

Business Finance Controller

This position requires a hands-on finance professional who can balance strategic insight with operational control, ensuring both accuracy and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Unit Budgeting and Forecast

• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for the business unit.
• Work with functional and business heads to consolidate budgets and align with business goals.
• Track and report performance against budget, identifying variances and recommending corrective measures.

2. Material Margin and Cost Variance Analysis

• Monitor material margins and cost structures to drive profitability.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and present insights to leadership.
• Support cost optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives.

3. Project Budgeting and Business Support

• Support business teams in developing project budgets and financial evaluations.
• Track project-wise financial performance and provide insights on cost deviations.
• Partner with business heads in commercial evaluations and investment decisions.

4. Record-to-Report (R2R) Business Unit Control

• Manage consolidation and finalization of accounts for the business unit.
• Prepare and present monthly MIS, profitability, and cost reports to the CFO and Board.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
• Liaise with auditors and external consultants during audit cycles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  CA / CMA / ICWA or MBA (Finance).

• Experience:

  1015 years in business finance, FP&A, or financial controllership roles within manufacturing, engineering, or technology-driven sectors.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, costing, and financial controls.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency (SAP FICO/CO preferred).
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and systems orientation.
