Role Overview

Mid-Level Chartered Accountant

owning the finance function for a manufacturing unit

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Statements & Monthly Closures

• Independently manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
  
• Preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable Accounting Standards.
  
• Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data.
  

2. Books of Accounts & Factory Accounting

• End-to-end management of books of accounts in

  Tally

  , including inventory modules.
• Accounting and control over raw materials, WIP, finished goods, scrap, and job work.
  
• Periodic reconciliation of physical stock with book stock and investigation of variances.
  

3. MIS & Management Reporting

• Preparation of detailed

  monthly MIS

  including:
• P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
  
• Product-wise / plant-wise costing
  
• Variance and trend analysis
  
• Providing actionable insights to management for decision-making.
  

4. BOM, Costing & Operational Controls

• Ownership of

  Bill of Materials (BOM)

  accuracy and alignment with accounting data.
• Coordination with production, planning, and stores teams.
  
• Monitoring material consumption, yield losses, and cost variances.
  
• Supporting cost optimization and margin improvement initiatives.
  

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
  
• Control over receivables, payables, and inventory cycles.
  
• Driving improvements in working capital efficiency.
  

6. Audit & External Stakeholder Management

• Acting as the primary point of contact for

  statutory auditors

  .
• Managing audit schedules, queries, and finalization.
  
• Ensuring clean audit closures and timely implementation of recommendations.
  

7. Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance

• Ensuring timely and accurate compliance under

  GST, TDS, Income Tax

  .
• Review of returns, reconciliations, and assessments.
  
• Handling departmental notices, if any, in coordination with consultants.
  

8. Ledger Control & Internal Governance

• Regular scrutiny and reconciliation of

  vendor, debtor, and general ledgers

  .
• Review of ageing, provisions, and write-offs.
  
• Strengthening internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
