Job Description

The Field Service Engineer (UPS) is responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related power equipment at customer sites. The role involves ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction while adhering to company safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission UPS systems (Single Phase & Three Phase), batteries, and associated electrical panels. Ensure proper integration with customer electrical infrastructure. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance of UPS systems to ensure reliability and uptime. Perform health checks on batteries, inverters, rectifiers, and controllers. Corrective Maintenance / Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve faults in UPS systems, batteries, and communication interfaces. Coordinate with OEM / factory support teams for technical escalation. Customer Support: Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers. Maintain professional communication and build strong customer relationships. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare service reports, installation checklists, and maintenance logs. Update CRM or service tracking system with visit details. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all company and client safety guidelines. Ensure compliance with electrical standards and documentation protocols. Qualifications & Skills:Education: Diploma/ ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Experience: 1–5 years of field experience in UPS or Power Electronics equipment servicing. Knowledge of UPS systems, battery banks (SMF / Li-ion / Tubular), and electrical wiring. Technical Skills: Understanding of circuit diagrams, power electronics, and single/three-phase systems. Familiarity with testing tools: multimeter, clamp meter, battery tester, etc. Soft Skills: Strong communication and customer handling skills. Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently. Willingness to travel extensively to remote locations.
