Reports To: Factory Manager / Accounts Manager / CFO

Job Summary

The Factory Jr. Accountant will assist in managing and monitoring financial transactions related to apparel manufacturing operations. The role involves maintaining accurate books of accounts, supporting cost and inventory control, ensuring proper documentation, assisting with statutory compliance, and preparing financial reports to support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Record day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP system.

Prepare and post journal entries; must have knowledge of Purchase Orders (PO), Service Orders (SO), SRN, GRN, purchase, sales, expense, and payment vouchers.

Assist in managing accounts payable (suppliers, contractors, service providers) and accounts receivable (buyers, agents, job-workers), including fabric and accessories-related transactions.

Handle petty cash transactions and reconcile factory cash on a daily basis.

2. Costing & Inventory Management

Assist in preparing cost sheets for apparel production.

Track consumption of raw materials, trims, and accessories.

Support monitoring of fabric, yarn, dyeing, and finishing cost allocations.

Help with stock verification of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, and reconcile with accounts.

3. Export Billing & Documentation

Prepare export invoices and handle related documentation.

Maintain proper records of export/import transactions.

Assist in coordination with auditors for factory accounts.

4. Reporting & MIS

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly expense and production cost summaries.

Assist in profitability analysis by order, style, or buyer.

Support management in budgeting, cost control, and variance reporting.

Skills & Competencies

Basic knowledge of accounting principles & costing in the apparel/garment industry.

Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / factory ERP systems.

Understanding of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.

Strong numerical and analytical ability to support cost tracking.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and systematic record-keeping.

Good coordination skills with production, HR, and management teams.

Qualifications & Experience

B.Com / M.Com (Finance) or equivalent.

1–3 years of accounting experience (preferably in garment/textile/apparel industry).

Knowledge of factory/plant accounting and cost accounting will be an added advantage

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
