Job Summary

The Environment Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental and social impact analyses, climate change assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental management requirements across the project lifecycle. The role involves close coordination with the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, and stakeholders to incorporate environmental considerations into project planning, design, and implementation. The expert will also prepare environmental reports, IEC materials, and necessary documentation to meet both national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Environmental and Social Impact Analysis (ESIA) for project interventions.
• Undertake climate change assessments and recommend adaptive measures.
• Work closely with the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, and stakeholders to integrate environmental requirements into feasibility studies and DPR preparation.
• Incorporate environmental management aspects into

  bidding documents

  and technical specifications.
• Prepare

  Environmental Assessment Reports (EAR)

  and other project-related documentation as required by ADB, World Bank, or other MFIs.
• Develop

  Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials

  for awareness and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental safeguards and compliance throughout the project cycle.
• Support monitoring and reporting on environmental management implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• At least

  10 years of professional experience

  in environmental and social impact analysis, and climate change assessments in the water resources sector.
• Experience in ADB, World Bank, or MFI-funded projects preferred.
• Strong expertise in preparing environmental reports and integrating safeguards into technical studies.
• Experience in developing IEC materials and facilitating stakeholder consultations.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
