Job Description

Exploring the Role:
The Devops Engineer will be responsible for the daily administration, support, and maintenance of Windows and Linux-based servers, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. The role requires close collaboration with Monitoring, Dev Ops, and Network Operations teams to manage configurations, monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and secure servers against potential threats. You will play a vital part in maintaining system uptime and reliability for the organization.How your day will look Like/Job responsibilities:

Server Management
Configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
Manage upgrades, patches, and backups.
Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Optimize server performance
Server Security
Implement and manage antivirus and security measures to protect data and systems.
Conduct daily inspections for vulnerabilities and address them via Eset and Cortex Anti-Virus Portal.
Perform regular security audits and respond to breaches.
Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve server performance issues.
Provide technical support to Monitoring and Dev Ops teams.
Document issues and solutions for future reference.
Collaboration
Work closely with Monitoring, Net-Ops, Dev-Ops, and other IT teams.
Suggest improvements and solutions for system enhancements.
Stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.

Education & Work Experience:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
2-5 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
Microsoft Certified (Windows Server), CompTIA Server+, or equivalent (optional but preferred).

Knowledge:

DNS management
Strong Knowledge of A,B and C Class Subnets
System monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, Zabbix, SolarWinds.
Scripting and automation with PowerShell, Salt Stack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins.
ITIL best practices.

Skills:

Strong troubleshooting skills on windows OS and linux.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work with virtualization tools (Hyper-V, VMware).
Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP and AWS.

Attitude:

A proactive and detail-oriented approach.
Adaptable to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Eager to learn and stay updated on the latest industry trends.
Willingness to work in evening/night shifts and weekends when necessary.
