Job Overview

Electronics Design Engineer

schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, prototyping, and validation

Key Responsibilities

1. PCB Design & Hardware Development

  • Design multi-layer PCBs for motor controllers, sensor interfaces, and embedded control units.
  • Create clean and optimized schematics using

    Altium Designer, KiCAD, or Eagle

    .
  • Perform high-speed and power integrity layout for

motor driver circuits, microcontroller boards, and power regulation modules

    .
  • Incorporate EMI/EMC best practices into PCB design for noisy industrial environments.
  • Select components based on performance, availability, and thermal/electrical constraints.
  • Coordinate with fabrication vendors and oversee the assembly and bring-up of new hardware.
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT).

2. Embedded Hardware Integration

  • Develop control boards using microcontrollers like

    ESP32, STM32, Teensy

    , etc.
  • Integrate motor drivers (e.g.,

DRV series, TMC series, Cytron, L298

) with power supply and feedback circuits.
  • Work on signal conditioning, level shifting, and protection circuitry.
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers for pinout planning, peripheral interfacing, and board validation.

3. Motor Driver Circuit Design & Testing

  • Support the development of control boards for

BLDC, brushed DC, stepper, and servo motors

    .
  • Validate motor performance with encoder feedback systems (e.g.,

    magnetic encoders, SSI, incremental encoders

    ).
  • Test motor control boards under real load conditions, tuning for thermal and electrical efficiency.

4. Bench Testing & Debugging

  • Test and debug hardware using

oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, CAN analyzers, and signal generators

    .
  • Document test cases, hardware revisions, and performance reports.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid grasp of PCB stack-up, grounding techniques, and analog/digital signal separation.
  • Understanding of motor control electronics and sensor interfacing.
  • Hands-on experience with

    SMT prototyping, soldering, and rework

    .
  • Exposure to

    CAN, RS-485, UART, SPI, I2C

    hardware-level integration.
  • Familiarity with

    thermal design considerations

, heat dissipation, and board-level protection.
  • Prior experience with robotics, AGVs, or mechatronic systems is a plus.
