EHS Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor compliance with EHS regulations (Factories Act, Pollution Control Board, FSSAI, etc.).
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits in dairy processing, chilling centers, and warehouses.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals, cleaning agents, ammonia refrigeration systems, and hazardous materials.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Organize regular safety drills (fire, chemical leak, ammonia leak, electrical hazards).
  • Promote employee awareness on safe food handling, hygiene, and occupational health practices.
  • Monitor effluent treatment plant (ETP) operations and ensure compliance with PCB norms.
  • Oversee waste management, water usage, energy consumption, and pollution control measures.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives (water conservation, energy efficiency, waste reduction).
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and food safety requirements in coordination with QA/Production teams.
  • Support medical checkups, PPE usage, and workplace hygiene practices.
  • Maintain EHS-related documentation, statutory records, and permits (fire license, PCB consents, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit periodic EHS reports to management and regulatory authorities.


Required Qualification &Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Engineering, Environment, Safety Management, or related field.Additional qualification in Industrial Safety will be preferred.
  • 5 –7 years of experience in EHS, preferably in dairy/food processing/FMCG industry
  • Knowledge of dairy plant operations, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and effluent treatment.
  • Strong understanding of statutory EHS requirements and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000 preferred).
  • Good communication and training skills.
  • Incident investigation and problem-solving ability.
