What You’ll Be Doing:


Editorial Assistant


Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate the

    peer review process

    : assign reviewers, send reminders, track timelines, and ensure quality outcomes using tools like ScholarOne, Editorial Manager, or similar platforms.  
  • Serve as the

    primary point of contact

    for authors, reviewers, and editors—answering queries and guiding them through the editorial process. 
  • Maintain

    accurate and up-to-date records

    in internal databases, spreadsheets, and project management tools. 
  • Arrange and track reviewer feedback

    for book proposals or journal articles under consideration. 
  • Support editorial decision-making by ensuring proper documentation, timelines, and reviewer availability. 
  • Send out

    author contracts

    and respond to related queries. 
  • Prepare manuscripts for hand over to the production team by conducting final checks. 
  • Provide support for editorial board meetings, including

    meeting coordination, minutes, and follow-ups

  • Assist with

    ad-hoc tasks

    such as processing payments, maintaining contributor records, and coordinating with vendors. 
  • Liaise with internal departments (marketing, production, royalties) to resolve queries or escalate issues. 
  • Support Editors/Publishers in achieving

    editorial KPIs and timelines


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Excellent

    administrative and project coordination skills

  • Strong attention to detail and

    organizational abilities

  • Comfortable working with

    deadlines and multiple projects

    simultaneously. 
  • Excellent written and verbal

    communication skills

    —professional yet empathetic tone. 
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently when required. 
  • Familiarity with

    MS Office

    , especially Excel and Outlook. Experience with manuscript tracking systems is a bonus. 
  • A genuine interest in

    academic publishing, peer review, or journal/book workflows

Eligibility:

  • 1.5–4 years of experience in an ePublishing/journal editorial team. 
  • Exposure to peer review platforms or journal production workflow.
