Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead multiple Scrum teams, totaling 40+ engineers. You should bring proven experience managing teams of similar scale, with strong expertise in coordinating cross-functional groups, driving agile practices, and delivering complex projects.


In this role, you will shape team direction, guide engineers in their professional growth, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. You’ll work closely with product managers to align on vision, prioritize backlogs, and ensure agile delivery of technical solutions. Your leadership will be pivotal in executing strategic initiatives, promoting excellence, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.


Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Collaboration:

    Partner with the CTO, Product teams, and stakeholders to define long-term technology and product strategy.
  2. Project Oversight:

    Manage team goals, development timelines, and delivery, ensuring efficient resource use and budget control.
  3. Leadership Development:

    Lead and mentor engineers with cultural, technical, and hands-on guidance to support growth.
  4. Cultivate Growth:

    Foster open communication, craftsmanship, ownership, and accountability across the team.
  5. Best Practices Advocate:

    Drive adoption of engineering best practices to scale teams and technology efficiently.
  6. Accountability for Excellence:

    Own KPIs for service health, uptime, quality, and test coverage.
  7. Goal-Oriented Leadership:

    Guide execution and accountability through clear OKRs and measurable outcomes.
  8. Knowledge Management:

    Ensure strong documentation and knowledge sharing to boost efficiency and retention.
  9. Issue Resolution:

    Resolve operational escalations and collaborate cross-functionally on practical solutions.
  10. Strategic Partnership:

    Work with leadership to anticipate opportunities and risks for proactive decisions.
  11. Alignment with Company Vision:

    Align teams with company objectives to drive collective success and achieve shared goals.
