DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure Deployment

Job Title: DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure Deployment Location: Onsite – Kolkata, West Bengal Employment Type: Full-Time We are hiring a full-time DevOps Engineer to manage infrastructure, deployments, and platform reliability across our production environments. The role requires deep hands-on experience with cloud systems, virtual machines, container orchestration, and deployment pipelines. The engineer will work closely with our engineering leadership to support delivery across both public cloud and institutional hosting infrastructures, including the State Data Centre (SDC), West Bengal. It is an execution-critical role that requires broad platform exposure and a high standard of reliability, security, and observability. Key Responsibilities Provision, configure, and maintain infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including rollout strategies, pod management, scaling, and monitoring Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated build, test, and release workflows Define and implement infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs) for application hosting, system patching, and firewall/network rule management Deploy and manage applications within institutional environments such as the State Data Centre (SDC) West Bengal, ensuring compliance with their hosting protocols Monitor system performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and central log aggregators Manage secrets, certificates, DNS, load balancing, and backups Collaborate with backend, frontend, and mobile development teams to ensure stability and deployment readiness across all environments Required Qualifications 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering Strong operational knowledge of AWS, with practical experience also in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and deployment automation Experience configuring and managing VMs in both cloud and on-premise environments Familiarity with deployment practices inside government data centers (e.g., SDC West Bengal) or similar institutions Proficiency with Linux systems administration, shell scripting, and basic OS-level hardening Strong working knowledge of network configuration, security groups, SSL, DNS, and load balancing Comfortable collaborating with developers and debugging infrastructure issues in fast-paced environments Strong documentation and communication skills Note: This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata.
