Technical Lead – Engineering & Architecture Location Onsite – Kolkata, West Bengal Employment Type- Full-Time We are hiring a full-time Technical Lead to take complete ownership of engineering delivery and architectural direction across a suite of complex digital platforms. This role includes hands-on system design and technical leadership across backend, frontend, and mobile application development teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining engineering standards, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring performance, security, and stability across systems. This position is based onsite in Kolkata and includes coordination with institutional infrastructure environments such as the State Data Centre (SDC), West Bengal , when required. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of platform engineering across backend services, frontend applications, and mobile development Define and enforce architectural standards, API design, system modularity, and data integrity Guide implementation across microservices, client applications (React/React Native), and third-party integrations Manage engineering workflows, sprint planning, code reviews, and team alignment Coordinate with DevOps for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, deployment, and observability (AWS, Kubernetes) Ensure system scalability, maintainability, and readiness for high-load production use Collaborate with institutional partners (e.g., SDC West Bengal) to align deployments with compliance requirements Act as the senior technical escalation point to unblock teams and maintain delivery momentum Required Qualifications 6–10 years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role Proven experience building scalable, distributed systems using microservices architecture Proficiency in one or more backend technologies such as Go, Node.js, or Python Familiarity with frontend technologies and frameworks such as React and React Native Strong database design and query optimization experience (SQL-based) Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments Experience mentoring engineering teams and enforcing code quality and architectural integrity Excellent problem-solving, communication, and execution skills in delivery-focused environments Preferred Qualifications Experience working on public-scale or enterprise systems in logistics, governance, fintech, or similar domains Knowledge of event-driven systems, message queues, and caching strategies Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry Prior experience working with government or regulated hosting environments (e.g., State Data Centres) Note: This is a full-time, onsite role based in Kolkata.
