Job Description

Role Description

Independently develop, validate, and deliver high-quality, error-free code and automation frameworks. Contribute to design discussions, mentor junior developers, and support the Lead Engineer in technical decisions and reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and contribute to application and component design based on user stories and requirements.
  • Develop, debug, test, and document automation scripts and application components.
  • Select and implement optimal technical solutions through code reuse, improvement, or reconfiguration.
  • Identify and resolve issues, defects, and design flaws proactively.
  • Optimize efficiency, cost, and quality through automation and continuous process improvement.
  • Mentor junior developers and support technical design reviews.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and defect mitigation.
  • Estimate effort, time, and resources for own and team tasks.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and status reports.
  • Contribute to reusable components and domain knowledge documentation.

Key Skills & Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience in Automation Testing using Selenium WebDriver and Protractor.
  • Proficient in API Test Automation using Rest Assured, JMeter, or similar tools.
  • Experience in Web UI application testing and performance testing (JMeter preferred).
  • Familiar with Test Management Tools, Bug Tracking Systems, and Version Control (Git).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Development and QA teams.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Performance Measures

  • Adherence to coding and quality standards.
  • On-time delivery and SLA compliance.
  • Low post-delivery defect rate.
  • Reduction of recurring defects.
  • Contribution to reusable automation components.
  • Completion of technical and domain certifications.

Good To Have

  • Exposure to Performance Testing tools like JMeter.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Knowledge of business domains relevant to the project.
