About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced on-site Desktop Support Engineer to deliver timely, high-quality technical support to end users across multiple Indian sites. This is a hands-on role focused on desktop/laptop hardware, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and account administration to maintain uptime for operational teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide on-site first- and second-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals—diagnose, repair, and escalate hardware/software issues promptly.
- Manage Windows OS troubleshooting, patching, imaging and deployment workflows using SCCM/Intune or similar tools.
- Administer user accounts and access via Active Directory/Azure AD and Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive); reset passwords and manage permissions.
- Handle incident tickets through the ITSM system (ServiceNow/Jira/ManageEngine): prioritize, resolve, document steps, and close with high customer satisfaction.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and collaborate with network teams for escalations and change implementations.
- Maintain asset inventory, create and update technical documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and runbooks.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 1+ years of hands-on desktop/endpoint support experience in an enterprise environment—on-site roles preferred.
- Strong expertise in Windows 10/11, hardware diagnostics, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with Active Directory/Azure AD and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Working knowledge of SCCM/Intune or imaging tools, and familiarity with endpoint security solutions.
- Experience using ITSM/ticketing platforms and following ITIL-based incident-management practices.
Preferred
- Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, MCSA, CompTIA A+/Network+ or ITIL Foundation.
- Prior experience supporting users in industrial or energy-sector operational environments.
- Familiarity with remote-support tools, basic scripting (PowerShell) and asset management tools.
