Design Draftsman – Wastewater Treatment Systems Location: Maniyakaranpalaiyam, Ganapathy , Coimbatore Department: Proposal Engineering and Designing Reporting To: Team lead Salary Range - 15,000 -20,000 ______________ Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Draftsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical drawings, layouts, and models related to wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and equipment. You will collaborate closely with engineers to transform conceptual designs into practical construction documents that meet technical, environmental, and safety standards. ______________ Key Responsibilities: Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for wastewater treatment systems, pipelines, and associated equipment. Create detailed 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other relevant CAD software. Translate conceptual designs provided by engineers into accurate, construction-ready drawings. Develop and update piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other technical drawings. Ensure all designs comply with applicable technical specifications, environmental guidelines, and safety regulations. Participate in project planning and coordination activities to align design deliverables with overall project timelines. Conduct site visits to gather information and incorporate real-world conditions into the design process. Provide technical support during project execution, coordinating with site engineers and contractors as needed. Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring all design records and revisions are well-documented. Support efforts to optimize wastewater treatment layouts for efficiency, space utilization, and cost-effectiveness. ______________ Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or related technical field. 2+ years of experience in design drafting, preferably in wastewater treatment or utility infrastructure projects. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent. Strong understanding of P&ID drawings, piping layouts, and mechanical design principles. Familiarity with environmental and safety standards in infrastructure design. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
