Design Engineer

Job Title: Design EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with extensive experience in CATIA V5 for part, surface, and drawing design. The role involves the design and development of interior trims from concept to final design, ensuring alignment with design requirements and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop interior trims from concept to final design.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide solutions.
• Conduct packaging studies and create master sections.
• Identify and resolve design-related issues during development until release.
• Design products to meet cost targets.
• Utilize knowledge of prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly processes for interiors.
• Apply problem-solving skills such as 8D and 6-sigma methodologies.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with self-motivation and enthusiasm.
• Develop and facilitate engineering reviews of CAD designs using collaborative tools.
• Ensure CAD designs meet quality standards and suggest alternatives when necessary.
• Apply GD&T to completed designs.
  

Essential Skills

• Proficient in CATIA V5 for part, surface, and drawing design.
• Strong knowledge in packaging study and master section creation.
• Experience with Team Center and Vismockup.
• Proficient in problem-solving skills like 8D and 6-sigma.
• Familiarity with MS Office tools.
• Experience in commodities development, such as interior components like IP&CNSL, air vents, ducts, pillar trims, door trims.
• Ability to understand geometric requirements within vehicle engineering context.
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in benchmarking and cost reduction.
• Strong customer and cross-functional relationship skills.
• Extensive experience in developing CAD designs in CATIA.
• Ability to facilitate engineering review using tools like Web-Ex, IM, and emails.
  

Work Environment
The role requires working in a collaborative environment where you will engage with cross-functional teams. You will use various technologies and tools such as CATIA V5, Team Center, and Vismockup to carry out design tasks.
