Design Engineer

As a Design Engineer for Steel Structures at our reputed steel fabrication and construction company in Calicut, Kerala, specializing in structural steel works, industrial sheds, and custom steel projects, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative and technically sound structural solutions. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed 2D and 3D structural steel designs using software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar tools. You will create fabrication drawings, layout plans, and structural detailing, ensuring design feasibility and accuracy by collaborating with project engineers and site teams. Additionally, you will be involved in the preparation of BOMs (Bill of Materials) and material take-offs, as well as modifying existing designs based on project requirements or site feedback. It will be your responsibility to maintain project documentation and update design revisions, ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety standards. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelors/Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent, along with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in steel structure design or detailing. Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must, while knowledge of Tekla Structures, STAAD Pro, or similar tools will be advantageous. A strong understanding of steel fabrication processes and structural elements, coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, will be key to your success. Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset are also essential qualities.
