Designation: Design Development Engineer (Corrugated Boxes)

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing packaging solutions that meet customer needs and manufacturing capabilities. This role requires a blend of creative design skills, technical knowledge, and project management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

Create innovative and functional corrugated box designs based on client requirements.

Develop prototypes and conduct testing to ensure design feasibility and durability.

Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for precise design and modelling.

Implement sustainable and cost-effective materials and processes in designs.

Project Management:

Manage design projects from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, sales, and marketing to align design goals.

Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for internal and client review.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct rigorous testing of materials and designs to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve design-related issues and improve product quality.

Implement continuous improvement practices in design processes to enhance product performance and efficiency.

Client Interaction:

Work closely with clients to understand their packaging needs and provide technical guidance.

Present design concepts and prototypes to clients for feedback and approval.

Modify designs based on client feedback while maintaining structural integrity and functionality.

Research and Development:

Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in packaging design and materials.

Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Drive innovation by researching new materials, technologies, and design methodologies.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging design and development, preferably in the corrugated box manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other design tools.

Strong understanding of corrugated materials, manufacturing processes, and packaging standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of sustainability practices and materials in packaging design.

Additional Information:

Work Environment:

This position may require occasional travel to client sites and manufacturing facilities.

The role is predominantly office-based with frequent interaction with the production floor.
