Candidate Expectations

Candidate with minimum 8 years� experience in accounting field, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance accounting sector with experience in working through remote servers.CA Qualified with post qualification of minimum 8+ yearsB. Sc degree from a reputed university with a specialization in accounting will be an added advantage.ACA/ACCA or ACMA qualification or equivalent.Knowledge of the international insurance/reinsurance market and regulatory environment.Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including an understanding of insurance/reinsurance accounting standards.Experience and current working knowledge of reporting from general ledger systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Providing accounting and administrative services to a portfolio of reinsurance clients, including accounting for insurance and reinsurance contracts and investments, payment of monthly expenses, maintenance of cashbooks, preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and management reports, as well as supporting schedules and analysis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesBuild and develop relationships with client personnel and service providers to better identify and understand client needsDemonstrate an excellent understanding of client deadlines and requirementsGeneral ledger processing, including journal entry postingAssist with research on latest accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRSAssist with audit process of company and its clientsElectronic filing of documentationFollow all policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and risk control standards
