Your Role

Were looking for a strategic technology leader to head our ITH/IA portfolio approximately 100 engineers, architects, and product owners dedicated to delivering high-impact digital solutions in the Technical Aftersales domain.

This role demands end-to-end ownership of programs, strong people and stakeholder leadership, and the ability to scale tech platforms using agile and cloud-native approaches.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Program Leadership (60%)
  • Drive aftersales initiatives including Diagnostics, Software Updates, Owners Manual, and Digital Extras aligned to MB.OS strategy.
  • Lead complex product/platform development across Java, AWS, and modern tech stacks.
  • Translate strategic objectives (e.g., ShiftRight, CIOs 5 Pillars) into concrete deliverables with OKRs.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through strong governance and frequent updates.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with global tech teams and business units.
2. People Leadership & Culture Building (30%)
  • Lead a 100-member team across Levels 59; foster a culture of inclusion, performance, and ownership.
  • Hire, coach, and retain top talent; run career conversations and conflict resolution effectively.
  • Promote a speak-up and psychologically safe environment to drive innovation.
  • Support budget planning, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with governance policies.
3. Domain & Functional Expertise (10%)
  • Bring deep knowledge of automotive aftersales processes, regulations, and compliance.
  • Understand diagnostic protocols, digital content creation for service, and tech platform architecture.
  • Build technical excellence within the team using Agile, DevOps, and continuous learning.
Qualifikationen
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Education: B.E. in Computer Science or related discipline; MBA (optional but preferred)
  • Experience: 18+ years in technology leadership, ideally in the automotive or software domain
  • Technical:
    • Java, AWS, microservices architecture
    • Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps practices
  • Leadership:
    • Experience leading diverse, cross-functional engineering teams
    • Strong stakeholder and change management skills
  • Languages: English (Fluent); German is an added advantage
  • Certifications: PMP, SAFe, or Product Management certifications are a plus
