Purpose Of The Position The role exists to conceptualize and develop standards for Functional Integration of Body Electronics components in E&E architecture, to meet program targets of quality, cost & time for entire range of PVBU and EVBU vehicles. This role is significant with the exponential increase in smart functions in Body Components Key Responsibility Innovation and Technology roadmap development: Scan technology implications influencing automotive body electrical/ electronic components and electrical architecture. Keep abreast with attribute & Technology trends and relevant technology providers Develop new technologies that are critical for TML's product portfolio as per Tata Motors Product development roadmap Update milestone deliverable status in TCDS process Review and develop IPR ideas, review documentation and support filing of patents.Number of TCDS (Technology creation & development system) milestones cleared as per plan Develop Capability & Competency Define competency level requirements for Body Component Electronics and E&E functional integration Develop relevant tools & technologies for product engineering based on benchmarking Create short and medium term engineering capability plans to achieve functional objectives Competency development against the annual plan for Body Component Electronics Product Development Develop and continually improve the system for documentation of functional requirements of Body Components for integration with E&E architecture, with inputs from functional aggregate owners across projects Design and review SIL simulations for confirmation of requirements compliance Design & review HIL simulations for Body Electrical Components testing and approval for lab-car and vehicle testing Review critical issues & provide technical expertise for resolution of issues. Create/ review and develop electrical/ electronics specifications for Body Electrical/ Electronics components Implement best practices (design standards, automation & processes) to find and resolve issues at an early stage, shorten the product development lifecycle, enhance the design quality, reduce the development risks and be first time right Review & approve standard timelines for development & validation of Body Electronics Components Managing project budgets and resources Develop cost effective solutions and guide team on implementation in the project Review deviation approvals for technical issues & timelines, and assess risk to quality Product Sustenance Drive corrective measures on Quality issues wrt engineering and deploy the learning in Engineering Product Development Processes Evaluate VA/VE initiatives & ensure implementation in existing products for profitability People Development Cascade of BSC targets to individual KRA’s. Monitor performance and provide individual feedback to direct and wherever necessary indirect reports. Capture the current and future skills and competency requirements for all roles in Body Component Electronics. Monitor and take corrective measures to bridge gaps in skills and competencies for the department. Communication Meetings Compliance to LOOP process Skills and Competency Matrix Desired Profile Graduation in Engineering 10+ years of experience in engineering and development of Electronics & Electrical control and power systems Knowledge of automotive electronics and network protocols Experience of leading at least 1 full product engineering cycle Experience of new technology integration / development.
