Role Overview

The Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in leading the academic, research, and administrative functions of the School of Business. The incumbent will support the Director in driving strategic growth, ensuring academic excellence, building industry linkages, and strengthening the school’s position as a hub for management education and research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic Leadership:

    Oversee program delivery at UG, PG, and doctoral levels ensuring high-quality curriculum design, innovative pedagogy, and strong learning outcomes.
  • Faculty Development:

    Mentor, recruit, and retain top faculty; foster a culture of research, teaching excellence, and professional development.
  • Research & Publications:

    Encourage and facilitate impactful research, publications, case studies, and consultancy projects in line with national and international standards.
  • Industry & Corporate Engagement:

    Build strong collaborations with industry leaders to enhance placements, internships, guest lectures, and live projects.
  • Student Development:

    Champion initiatives for student success including mentoring, global exposure, entrepreneurship support, and career readiness.
  • Accreditations & Rankings:

    Contribute to achieving and maintaining national/international accreditations, quality benchmarks, and improved rankings.
  • Strategic Growth:

    Work closely with the Director to design and implement growth strategies, new programs, and partnerships (national and international).
  • Governance & Administration:

    Ensure compliance with university regulations, statutory requirements, and accreditation norms while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Requirements

  • Education:

    PhD in Management/Business Administration or allied disciplines from a reputed institution.
  • Experience:

    15+ years of academic/industry experience, with at least 5 years in a senior academic/administrative leadership role in a reputed university/business school.
  • Research & Publications:

    Strong research credentials with publications in Scopus/ABDC listed journals; exposure to funded projects preferred.
  • Leadership Skills:

    Proven ability to lead large academic teams, foster innovation in pedagogy, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Industry Connects:

    Strong network with corporate leaders, industry bodies, and professional associations.
  • Personal Attributes:

    Visionary outlook, strategic thinking, excellent communication, and commitment to academic and institutional excellence.
