Deputy Director, Learning and Development, is a key role responsible for supporting the strategic direction and execution of the organization's learning and development initiatives, with a significant focus on the development of our technology talent which includes - Engineering / UX / Product/ Data science and other sub teams . This individual will be expected to lead 2-3 BU's along with Tech teams and should be agile to support organisations with changing requirements. This role will diagnose functional skill gaps, design strategic learning roadmaps, and partner with L&D and technology leaders to ensure our technical talent has the capabilities needed to drive innovation, scalability, and performance in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Responsibilities

Strategic Support : Assist in developing and implementing the overall learning and development strategy, with a strong emphasis on initiatives that support the growth and upskilling of Myntra Talent

Business Acumen: Act as the primary strategic learning consultant to leaders to understand their long-term roadmaps, business priorities (e.g., platform stability, speed, new feature launches, cost optimization), and associated technical and leadership capability needs. Conduct in-depth skills gap analyses to inform the design of targeted learning solutions.

Skills Gap Analysis: Proactively identify and diagnose critical skills gaps (e.g., in Cloud Computing, AI/ML, DevOps, Cybersecurity, E-commerce Platforms) across the tech organization using data from performance reviews, tech audits, and business metrics.

Technical Roadmap Development : Develop and maintain structured learning pathways and curricula for key technical roles (e.g., Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, SREs) from onboarding to advanced mastery.. Utilize a variety of learning methodologies tailored for technical audiences, including hands-on labs, simulations, coding challenges, and collaborative learning platforms.

Culture of Continuous Learning: Drive usage and adoption of learning experience platform for all BU's , Work with tech managers to embed a culture of continuous learning, coaching, and knowledge sharing within their teams.

Learning Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in technical learning and development. Evaluate and recommend innovative learning modalities

Metrics & ROI: Establish and track key metrics (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and business impact of all learning programs, such as:

Time-to-competency for new hires.

Certification attainment rates.

Application of new skills on the job (e.g., project quality, speed, or stability improvements).

Learning cost per employee and overall training ROI.

Reporting: Create and present regular reports and dashboards to senior technology and HR leadership, providing data-driven recommendations for program iteration and investment adjustments

Technical Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders, including VPs of Engineering, Engineering Sr.Directors/ Directors , Tech Leads, and individual contributors, to ensure alignment and buy-in for technical learning initiatives. Act as a trusted advisor on technical learning strategies.

Content Curation: Curate a best-in-class mix of learning solutions, including custom-developed internal courses, external vendor training, certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), internal knowledge sharing (e.g., "Tech Talks," hackathons), and on-the-job experiences. Should be able to create and facilitate behavioural trainings as well
Qualifications
: -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

15 +years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, with significant and demonstrable experience working as a Tech Learning Partner or in a role heavily focused on developing technical talent within a technology-driven organization.

Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, with the ability to apply them effectively to technical content

Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex learning initiatives.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Proficient in using data and analytics (e.g., Excel, reporting tools) to measure program effectiveness and drive decisions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data related to technical skill development and training effectiveness.

Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic technology environment.

Experience in managing and deploying LMS / LXP
