Role: IBM DataStage Developer (On-Site, India)

Role & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end ETL workflows in IBM DataStage for high-volume data warehousing and real-time reporting.
Analyze complex source systems (RDBMS, flat files, APIs) and translate business rules into optimized extraction, transformation, and loading routines.
Perform code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning to meet sub-second SLA and maximize throughput.
Collaborate with Data Architects, BI Analysts, and DevOps to ensure data quality, lineage, and seamless CI/CD releases.
Implement robust scheduling, error handling, and recovery strategies to guarantee 24×7 system availability.
Create technical documentation and mentor junior engineers on DataStage best practices and governance standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

6+ years hands-on experience with IBM DataStage 11.x or higher in production environments.
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL scripting across Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server databases.
Proven track record in designing star/snowflake schemas and building large-scale data warehouses.
Strong Unix/Linux shell scripting and job scheduling (Control-M, Autosys, or cron).
Expertise in performance tuning, parallel processing, and DataStage Director/Designer troubleshooting.

Preferred

Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or GCP BigQuery).
Experience integrating DataOps/DevOps pipelines using Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of data governance, lineage tools, and metadata management frameworks.
