Database Engineer

Description and Requirements:

Required Experience: 9+ Years

Development Responsibilities:

• Design and develop complex SQL queries, functions, procedures, triggers, and views
• Develop and optimize stored procedures and PL/pgSQL functions for application and data processing needs
• Assist application development teams in writing efficient and scalable database queries
• Analyze query performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Should have experience working on Linux(ubuntu) system
• Proficient in communicating and writing in English

Administration Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers in dev/test/prod environments.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, patching, and monitoring of PostgreSQL servers.
• Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans using tools like pg_dump, pgBackRest, or Barman.
• Implement and monitor replication, high availability, and failover strategies (e.g. streaming replication, Patroni, etc.).
• Ensure database security and user access controls.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify issues before they affect operations.
