Database Developer

Job Description & Summary: We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management systems, including RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with a deep understanding of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can design, tune, and maintain databases to support our high-performance applications. You will work closely with application developers, providing guidance and support to enhance our data-driven projects.

Job Position Title: Database Developer

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement database schemas, ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. 2. Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, improving system efficiency and data retrieval. 3. Provide technical guidance and support to application developers on database design, query tuning, and best practices. 4. Conduct code reviews and SQL query tuning to enhance application performance. 5. Manage RDBMS and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server, ensuring optimal performance. 6. Install, configure, and maintain database systems; apply upgrades and patches to maintain system integrity. 7. Develop and implement SQL patches and oversee data migrations to ensure data accuracy and availability. 8. Proactively recommend system improvements to increase database performance and reliability. 9. Prepare and present reports on database health and performance statistics to both internal and external stakeholders. 10. Assist with large-scale data migration activities, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Mandatory skill sets:

1. Working knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL DB 2. Strong experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL, Maria DB, SQL Server etc. 3. Provide guidance and support to Application Developers 4. Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning 5. Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations 6. Write and deploy SQL patches 7. Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades 8. Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements 9. Collate, prepare and present statistical information and reports for internal and external use 10. Strong knowledge in Stored Procedure, Trigger, View, Cursor, large scale Data migration activities and performance tunning

Preferred skill sets: 1. Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. 2. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and development best practices.
