Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing databases to support business applications and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of SQL, experience with ETL processes, and a deep understanding of data modelling and database performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain complex relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL). Write efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for data integration and transformation using tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica PowerCenter. Work closely with application developers and data analysts to support backend data needs. Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance. Design and implement data models (normalized and denormalized) for transactional and analytical purposes. Monitor, maintain, and improve database security, integrity, and availability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Maintain documentation related to database structure, processes, and development standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field. 4+ years of hands-on experience in database development and management. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with one or more major RDBMS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL). Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake. Experience building ETL pipelines to load data into Snowflake Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (star schema, snowflake, normalization). Experience in performance tuning and query optimization. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Good understanding of database security and data governance practices. Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL). Exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is a plus. Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
