Job Title: Database Architect

Experience:

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Database Architect

with deep expertise in

DB2 on Linux

to design, optimize, and lead enterprise-scale database solutions. The role requires hands-on technical leadership across architecture, performance engineering, security,lity, while also supporting business-critical migration and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement DB2 on Linux architectures, including instances, storage/IOPS, and database layouts.
Define and execute HA/DR (HADR) strategies to ensure resilience and business continuity.
Develop and manage backup/restore strategies for large-scale enterprise systems.
Implement advanced security mechanisms including TLS, RBAC, and RCAC.
Lead database migration projects using db2look/db2move, Q Replication, and CDC.
Drive performance engineering initiatives (bufferpools, logging strategies, WLM optimization).
Manage licensing, BYOL, and coordinate with IBM SCAD for compliance.
Provide consultative leadership to cross-functional teams in pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
Ensure best practices, standardization, and reusable frameworks across accounts.

Mandatory Skills

DB2 on Linux architecture (instances, storage/IOPS, layout).
High Availability / Disaster Recovery (HADR) design.
Backup & Restore strategy implementation.
Security frameworks: TLS, RBAC, RCAC.
Migration methodologies: db2look/db2move, Q Replication (Q Rep), Change Data Capture (CDC).
Performance optimization: bufferpools, logging, WLM.
Licensing / BYOL management & IBM SCAD coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of enterprise solution architecture and integration.
Experience leading large-scale database transitions in complex environments.
Proven track record of thought leadership (white papers, accelerators, or reusable frameworks).
Excellent client-facing, consultative, and leadership skills.
