About the Role

Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, manage, and maintain database systems.
Monitor database performance, availability, and security.
Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
Optimize queries and tune database performance for scalability.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and high availability.
Implement database security policies, access controls, and audits.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
Collaborate with developers to support application database needs.
Document database architecture, procedures, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
3–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
Strong hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
Understanding of database security concepts and compliance standards.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have

Exposure to cloud-hosted databases on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
