Why we're hiring:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst to join our Customer Success team. In this critical role, you will be the guardian of our data's integrity, ensuring that the information flowing through our data platform is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy. You will play a vital part in the data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to its final storage, making sure our stakeholders can confidently use our data to drive decisions.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and Implement Data Quality Checks: Work with Data Engineers and Business Analysts to define, create, and implement data quality rules and validation checks at various stages of our ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Monitor and Report on Data Quality: Proactively monitor the health of our data pipelines and datasets. Develop and maintain data quality dashboards (using tools like Power BI or Tableau) to provide clear visibility into data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Investigate and Resolve Data Issues: Act as the first line of defense for data-related issues. Investigate data anomalies, perform root cause analysis to identify the source of errors, and collaborate with the engineering team to drive resolution.
- Maintain Data Quality Documentation: Create and maintain a central repository of data quality rules, standards, and metrics. Document data issues and their resolutions to build a knowledge base for the team.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the Data Architect, Data Engineers, and downstream data consumers (like the Value Measurement and Customer Insights squads) to understand their data needs and ensure quality standards meet their requirements.
What you'll need:
- Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in a data quality, data analysis, business analysis, or a similar role focused on data integrity.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL is essential for querying data and performing validation.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- A strong conceptual understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modelling.
Preferred Skills (A Plus):
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau for creating dashboards.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
- Basic scripting skills in a language like Python for automating checks.
- Experience with specific data quality or data governance tools.
You're Good At:
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: You have a keen eye for spotting inconsistencies and errors in large datasets.
- Problem-Solving: You are a natural detective, skilled at tracing issues back to their source and thinking critically about solutions.
- Clear Communication: You can clearly and concisely explain technical data issues to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Collaboration: You are a strong team player who enjoys working with different roles to achieve a common goal.
- Proactive Mindset: You don't wait for problems to find you; you actively look for ways to improve data quality and prevent future issues.
