designing and maintaining data models to meet business needs, which involves creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models that define how data is structured, stored, and related. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, translating those requirements into data structures, ensuring data integrity and quality, and working with teams to optimize database performance for applications, analytics, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and development:

• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to structure and organize data efficiently for various business processes.

• Collaboration:

• Work with stakeholders, data architects, data engineers, and other teams to understand data needs and ensure models align with business goals.

• Data integrity and quality:

• Define and document schemas, implement primary and foreign keys, and ensure data consistency, reliability, and accuracy.

• Optimization:

• Analyze and improve existing data structures to enhance performance, scalability, and query efficiency.

• Documentation:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models and design specifications.

• Problem-solving:

• Provide solutions to data-related problems and contribute to technical discussions.

• Training:

• Facilitate training sessions for junior team members to enhance their data modeling knowledge.

Required skills and qualifications

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional, relational, NoSQL).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with database management systems.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes is often required.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles.

• Analytical Skills:

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, Power BI) is a plus.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and act as a subject matter expert (SME).

• Education:

• A bachelor's or master's degree is often required, depending on the level and company.

Mandatory Skills

experience with ERWIN, MS SQL SERVER, TOAD DATA MODELER, DATA VAULT MODELING, ANSI-SQL, DIMENSIONAL DATA MODELING, ER STUDIO, MICROSOFT FABRIC, GCP BIG QUERY, Red shift, snowflake, Data Bricks, TOAD.

Knowledge with -ETL Tool, Snowflake.
