Data Engineer (D365 + Azure + Power BI)

.In this role, you will design and operate robust data pipelines that unify critical business data into a single, trusted analytics platform. You will play a central role in eliminating data fragmentation across Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations by building scalable, well-modeled datasets. Working within the Microsoft data ecosystem, you will collaborate closely with architects and business stakeholders to define reliable metrics and performant reporting layers. Your work will directly influence decision-making by ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. This role offers strong ownership, technical depth, and real business impact. It is ideal for a data engineer who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with stakeholder collaboration.
Accountabilities
- Build and operate data pipelines from D365 F&O, D365 CE or CRM, Dataverse, and additional sources such as APIs, files, and SharePoint into the enterprise data platform
- Design and implement star schemas, lakehouse structures, and semantic models consumed by Power BI and analytics users
- Establish data quality checks, reconciliation rules, and lineage to ensure consistency across finance and operational reporting
- Optimize performance and cloud costs through partitioning, indexing, caching, and storage tiering
- Collaborate with the Data Architect to standardize ingestion and modeling patterns, including CDC, batch processing, and slowly changing dimensions
- Support the creation of Power BI datasets and a limited number of critical Finance and Supply Chain dashboards as needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a data engineer working on the Microsoft data stack
- Strong hands-on expertise with D365 entities, Dataverse, Azure Data Factory or Fabric pipelines, Synapse or SQL DW, and Power BI
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or PowerShell
- Proven experience consolidating ERP and CRM data into a centralized analytical model
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders on metric definitions and reporting behavior
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to data accuracy, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating across both back-end data engineering and analytics enablement
