Role Overview

We are seeking a

Data Analyst

with strong SQL skills and experience working in a fast-paced

internet-first

startup environment like

Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, or similar new-age companies

. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling large datasets, optimizing queries, and deriving actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful business insights and drive data-backed decision-making.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to fetch, clean, and process data efficiently.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, product, and finance) to define key metrics and track business performance.
  • Create dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and areas of improvement in business operations using data.
  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines and reporting processes.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and deep dives into specific problem statements to support leadership decision-making.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in an internet-first startup (Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, etc.).
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in writing efficient queries, joins, CTEs, and optimizing database performance.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or Metabase.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of basic statistical methods and A/B testing.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into business impact.
  • Bonus: Experience with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
