We are looking for a highly skilled, digital content/creative editor who is also confident in front of the camera to take charge of creating and appearing in short-form video content optimized for social media platforms. This role is critical in amplifying our brand's presence on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical-feed channels. The ideal candidate will be a charismatic storyteller who can conceptualize, shoot, edit, and appear in videos while aligning with platform-specific trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualization and Planning
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to develop video concepts that align with campaign goals and audience preferences.
- Brainstorm and storyboard creative video ideas, including upfront micro-dramas and short-form ads, leveraging storytelling to emotionally connect with viewers.
- Leverage your on-screen presence to make content relatable, engaging, and memorable.
Video Editing
- Shoot and edit high-quality short-form video content, focusing on vertical formats (1:1, 9:16 aspect ratio).
- Confidently appear in videos as a host, storyteller, or character to bring authenticity and personality to the content.
- Produce compelling micro-dramas that subtly integrate brand messaging.
- Develop platform-specific ad creatives that convert, balancing entertainment with clear calls-to-action.
- Manage lighting, sound, and camera angles to ensure professional-quality footage.
Post-Production
- Edit videos with platform-specific optimization, including quick cuts, captions, transitions, and effects.
- Add engaging motion graphics, animations, and subtitles to enhance the viewer experience.
- Create ad-ready versions of content for paid media campaigns and retargeting.
- Deliver content optimized for each platform’s specifications and trends.
Social Media Optimization (SMO)
- Research and stay updated with platform-specific trends, hashtags, and editing styles to ensure the content resonates with the target audience.
- Optimize captions, descriptions, and hashtags for enhanced visibility and reach.
- Develop trend-based micro-dramas that tap into cultural moments and viral formats.
Audience Engagement
- Monitor and respond to feedback on videos to refine future content.
- Use insights and analytics to adapt and iterate on successful content formats.
- Test and optimize micro-drama storylines and ad creatives for higher engagement and conversions.
Tools and Software Expertise Required:
Video Editing Tools:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro
- CapCut (TikTok-style edits)
- InShot (quick mobile edits)
Motion Graphics and Animation Tools:
- Adobe After Effects
- Canva (for quick on-brand assets)
- Blender or Cinema 4D (optional)
Design and Asset Creation Tools:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
Audio Editing Tools:
Social Media Management and Analytics Tools:
- Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social (for SMO and scheduling)
- TikTok Analytics, Instagram Insights, and YouTube Studio
Camera and Equipment Knowledge:
- DSLR cameras (e.g., Canon, Sony, or equivalent)
- Stabilizers/Gimbals (e.g., DJI Ronin, Zhiyun)
- Microphones (e.g., lavaliers, shotgun mics)
- Ring lights and softbox lighting setups
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of videography, with experience creating engaging short-form content for social media.
- On-Camera Confidence: A natural, charismatic presence on camera with strong storytelling skills.
- Creative Vision: A deep understanding of storytelling through video, pacing, and platform-specific trends.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in shooting, editing, and color grading high-quality videos.
- Trend Awareness: Keen knowledge of trending content formats, challenges, and styles across platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Adaptability: Ability to juggle multiple projects and pivot quickly based on feedback.
- Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with creative and marketing teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Portfolio of videos showcasing both behind-the-camera work and on-camera appearances.
- Experience with branded content, particularly in lifestyle, wellness, or community-driven platforms.
- Familiarity with TikTok effects, transitions, and trend-driven edits.
- Basic SEO knowledge for optimizing video descriptions and metadata.
