Job Summary:

We are seeking a Costing Engineer with hands-on experience in preparing accurate and competitive quotations for LT Panels, MCC Panels, PCC Panels, Control Panels, and other electrical panel solutions. The candidate must have a strong understanding of panel manufacturing processes, electrical components, and cost estimation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quotation & Estimation:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for electrical panels based on drawings, BOQs, tender specifications, and client requirements.

• Work closely with the design and procurement teams to ensure cost accuracy.

• Ensure quotations are technically and commercially viable.

• Technical Review:

• Study project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand the scope.

• Conduct technical feasibility analysis and suggest alternatives if required.

• Evaluate component ratings, panel sizing, and layouts.

• Vendor & Procurement Coordination:

• Obtain quotations from suppliers for switchgear, busbars, enclosures, meters, relays, etc.

• Maintain a database of material and component prices for cost optimization.

• Cost Control & Reporting:

• Analyze previous projects to benchmark costing accuracy.

• Highlight cost deviations and areas for savings in design or sourcing.

• Client Interaction:

• Support the sales team with technical and commercial inputs during pre-bid meetings and negotiations.

• Address any client queries related to estimates and quotations.

• Documentation:

• Maintain organized records of all quotations and supporting calculations.

• Ensure all estimates align with company pricing strategies and margin expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

• 3–4 years of experience in costing/estimation of electrical panels or switchgear manufacturing.

• Good understanding of electrical components (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, L&T, etc.).

• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (for reading drawings), and costing tools.

• Familiarity with tendering processes and contract terms is an added advantage.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Good communication and coordination ability.
